An inaugural 5K organized by the New Bern High School Interact Club to benefit the Colonial Capital Humane Society.
We are disappointed to have to tell you that the Pounding the Pavement for Paws 5K scheduled for Saturday, May 30 has been cancelled. However, there is another race on May 30 (rescheduled from May 21 due to severe weather) that will benefit, in part, the Colonial Capital Humane Society. The 3rd Annual Red White & Blue Run to Remember 5K will begin at 8:00 am in Taberna's Todd Denson Memorial Park. The funds raised at the race benefit the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, and we have invited folks to walk or run with their dogs & bring a gift of dog food or treats which we will donate to the Colonial Capital Humane Society. In addition, you can make a donation to either organization through the Red White & Blue Run to Remember 5K registration site.
If you choose to participate in the Red White & Blue 5K, we will simply transfer your registration from the Pounding the Pavement for Paws 5K. However, if you prefer a refund, we will issue that as soon as you let us know.
We have tried to come up with a solution that will benefit both groups and help the New Bern High School Interact Club achieve their goal. We are delighted that they will be offering volunteer support at the Red White & Blue 5K.
